Privacy & terms · Updated October 2026
Plain words, no fine print.
What say2 reads, what it keeps, and what it never does. If anything here is unclear, ask us on GitHub.
We read what anyone can open. Nothing behind a login.
Only questions the assistant couldn't answer, so the owner can.
We keep only a scrambled copy. Only you can open your Back office.
No tracking cookies, no selling data, no ad networks.
What we read
When someone sets up an assistant, we read up to 50 public pages of that website, including public PDFs. We only read pages anyone can open without logging in. We don't read pages behind logins, we follow each site's robots.txt rules, and we don't read big marketplaces or social networks.
What we store
- The text of those public pages, the site's logo link, name and description, and links for booking or ordering.
- The style settings chosen at setup: voice, color, look and signature.
- A scrambled version of the owner's edit key. We never store the key itself.
- What the owner adds in Back office: their own answers and house rules.
- The owner's login email, if they add one. We use it only for login codes and the summaries the owner chooses, never for marketing.
- When the assistant can't answer and a visitor chooses to leave a way to reach them (name, phone or email), we keep it only for that business's owner, and delete it after 30 days.
- We never sell or share any of this. Owners can delete everything for their assistant at any time in Back office, and then nothing is left.
Chats
We don't save chat conversations. When a visitor asks a question, the question and the site's stored text are sent to the AI model to write the answer. Recent messages are kept only in the visitor's open browser tab so the assistant can follow the conversation. For the owner's Back office we keep daily counts only (how many questions came in and how many it couldn't answer), never the text of answered questions.
One exception: when the assistant can't answer a question, we save that question's text (nothing else, no name or contact) so the business owner can answer it in their Back office. These questions are deleted automatically after 30 days, or sooner if the owner answers or dismisses them. Please don't type personal details into the chat.
In your browser
A few small settings live only in your own browser, never on our server:
Owner edit keyLight or dark choiceClear your browser's site data and they're gone. If you're an owner, you can get back in with a code sent to your login email, or with your private owner link.
Who processes the data
Answers are written by an AI model from a third-party AI provider. We use Groq, and may use Google (Gemini) as the main provider or a backup. Questions and site text are sent to the provider that writes each answer; see their own privacy policies at groq.com and policies.google.com for how they handle data. The app itself is hosted on Render.
Answers can be wrong
The assistant answers only from the business's own website and links to its source, but AI can still make mistakes, and websites go out of date. Please confirm anything important with the business directly, especially allergies, prices and policies. The business is responsible for what its website says.
Fair use
- Set up assistants only for websites you own or have permission to use.
- Don't use say2 to spam, overload or misuse anyone's website or our service. We limit how often anyone can use it.
- Don't try to make an assistant say false, offensive or harmful things.
Removing a site
If you set up an assistant, you can delete it and everything we keep for it at any time: Back office, then Delete this assistant. If someone else set up your website, paste your link on say2 and click Claim it to take it over (then you can delete it), or email thetinychaos+say2@gmail.com and we'll delete it.
Terms of use
